For churches

Photos and video

Photos and videos appear in each kiosk's slideshow, in the order shown in step 3, Photos & videos, of the kiosk editor. They come from your missionaries; your church adds them.

Photos #

  • Drag photos into the box, or tap it to choose them. You can pick several at once.
  • Each photo is resized in your browser to at most 1,600 pixels on its longest side and saved as a JPG. Saving it this way leaves out the location and camera details that phones store inside photo files. If a photo can't be read, save it as a JPG on your computer first.
  • The first photo becomes the portrait until you press Use as portrait on another one.
  • Use Earlier and Later to change the order. It's saved straight away.
  • Type a caption under each photo so visitors know what they're looking at. It's saved when you leave the box.

Video #

  • Paste a YouTube or Vimeo link and press Add video. Links are free and have no limit.
  • Or upload an MP4 video of up to 50 MB. For a longer video, ask the missionary to upload it to YouTube as Unlisted, and paste the link.

Planned The pricing page describes uploaded video that streams in high quality with monthly minute allowances, and AI captions, summaries and chapters for uploaded video. Today an uploaded MP4 is stored and played as it is, without captions.

Who sees them #

The Photos & videos eye at the top of step 3 controls whether they appear on the public site. They never appear on a Limited kiosk.

Asking missionaries for photos and video #

Send your missionaries the guide to sending photos, video and 360° views from the field. It covers:

  • Privacy and safety first, including telling the church before sending anything from a sensitive place.
  • 10 to 30 photos with each newsletter: people at work, the place, everyday life and one recent family photo.
  • Short videos of 30 seconds to 3 minutes, held sideways.
  • One 360° photo of a place that matters, for Step into the field.
  • Sending original files. Photos sent through WhatsApp, Messenger or text messages are shrunk and look blurry in the gallery; email with “Actual size” or a Google Drive, iCloud or Dropbox link works better.
